I was born in eastern China and have lived and worked in Buffalo, New York for more than a decade.

Drawing is an integral part of my daily life. I am particularly drawn to everyday sketching as a way of registering fleeting moments. I also work with clay, wood and linoleum, using varied processes and techniques to articulate how I see and experience the world. I am fascinated by the underlying qualities of things and people, and the information they reveal through chance and subtle change. At times, I focus on an event or an object until it dissolves and transforms into something else. In those moments, I enter a state that Daoist philosophy describes as “ 物我两忘 the forgetting of both self and object.”

In recent years, my vision has changed. What was once clear has gradually become blurred—an unusual transformation shaped by time. Sharp images remain etched in memory, while the world before me becomes increasingly indistinct. This blur opens a new perceptual space, offering another way to experience presence, distance, and atmosphere.

I am currently a fine art student at Erie Community College and work in public education as a teacher aide.
